The specific project supported was to help provide basic but essential clothes and equipment for recently arrived children to Number 3 School in Gori, Georgia. The school and the local community had been devastated during the recent troubles and the number attending the school has been swelled by over a hundred displaced children from other parts of Georgia.
Mr Jennings, teacher of History, who has been involved with this project from the start and whose wife attended No. 3 School in Gori as a child, said “We can’t imagine what it is like to leave behind everything that you have, literally at a moment’s notice. These people need our help urgently.”
